A question functions as a request for information. It requires an answer. Sometimes, in order to heal, you need to ask yourself questions. You need to look for the answers. And you need to be honest with yourself. When you find the answers, you become aware. As Eckhart Tolle says, “Awareness is the greatest agent for change.” Once you become aware, you can not ignore your discovery.

Resentment, anger and other negative emotions may be standing in the way of your health and wellbeing. Perhaps you need to consider forgiveness. Is there anything that you need to forgive yourself for doing? Or for not doing? Remember that you did what you could do at the time. Learn from your mistakes and move on. We all make mistakes. Or maybe there is a person in your life who you haven’t fully forgiven. How did they wrong you? Check your perceptions and beliefs about what happened. What is stopping you from forgiving them? Is there something you need/want from them? Allow yourself to forgive. They can not feel your anger or sadness or pain. But you can!!! Let it go and set yourself free!

When you think of your negative emotions toward yourself or another, do you feel any tension or pain in your body? Perhaps you feel a little sick in your stomach because you have no control over a situation. Or maybe your throat feels tight and difficult to swallow because it doesn’t feel safe to express your feelings. Your body is speaking to you. Listen.

Is there anything your body needs that you haven’t been giving it? Do you respect your body? Do you love it? Do you give it enough rest? Do you give it enough movement? Do you feed it well? Your body serves you unconditionally and deserves your respect. It’s the only body you have. It allows you to experience life.

How are your thoughts? Are you focused on the positive aspects of your life? Do you think about what you want? Or about what you don’t want? Are you looking at life with loving eyes or through a veil of perceived fears? Your thoughts affect the condition of your body. Are you choosing thoughts that promote health and wellbeing? Or are you creating lack and disease?

Is there anything that is preventing you from feeling peaceful and happy? What is it? Is it a material object or experience? Is it an unfulfilled desire or challenge? Go within and listen to your inner knowledge. You have all the answers. You will find a sense of joy when you are in service to your life’s mission. While you are contemplating your mission, ask yourself what your greatest strength is. Then demonstrate it.

And every day when you set yourself to rest, ask yourself, “What did I learn today?”
